Generation press came in for a visit, the presentation lasted a while but was filled with nothing but absolute design gold. Paul and Anand bought along an abundance of ridiculously gorgeous printed design, more stocks and finishes than I could comprehend in one afternoon. I got a load of photos but not nearly a full documentation of what was there to get our hands on.

Warnings
The cans I have in my possesion all have similar warnings on in terms of writing prose, although it looks like a lot of text, it is in fact a small amount of subject repeated over again in various languages - for various reasons including legal issues. Other than warnings, the text comprises of ingredients and a vague how to use piece. As boring as the thought of it is, I'm going to write up the english text from each of th cans, looking to create my own relevant body of text.

GRID
A 15 day viral project that was set up by Nike with the slogan 'Run you City', runners everywhere over London use phone boxes in specific postcodes to run routes and earn points, 15 days to run the city. Brilliant concept with the leader board aspect, managing to almost mask the element of exercise with a fairly simple game.
As a visual thinker, it was the branding of the project that led me to discover it. Not overly blown away by the type, but the use of spot colour is something I want to bear in mind when designing for my own project

Cans
Spray cans tend to have a lot of detail that can go unnoticed, I've used spray paint for a few years now and when it came to thinking about what was actually on the cans I went blank. So I gatherd the different brands of paint I could find at home and started analysing the content.
Really nice type on the Nitro 2G cans, especially compared to the Illuminarty cans pictured below. The Nitro 2G cans are very professionally finished even hosting a spot varnish over certain areas.

Thinking about poster designs for the release of a new Spray paint range from Nike, I love the simple background paying full attention to the product. Quite typical to see poster designs like this from Nike I thought it would be fitting to at least think about presenting my proposed product in vain of these...

TED
This interactive design is not exactly the level of deatail I wasthinking about incorporating into my colour guide booklet, although the concept of a pull out leaf, changing as its put inot action. My design will be focues around colour shift opposed to typography, but I was so amazed by the video it hasd to be blogged. The rest of the material produced for this project is really crisp too, particularly the accompanying poster and packaging.

3d Props
Maybe thinking about setting up and event to promote the release of Nike's spray paint. I've thought about the proposal of erecting a permentant creative urban area and something like these massive 3d spray cans from D-Face would immidiatley communicate the project's nature.
Decor
Looking at producing the design and packaging of spray paint cans from Nike, I wanted to document current can designs on the market alongside any other designs I can find. This design from the Market leader in the Latin American art material field Acrilex, is exceptionally decorative. It hints back to the history of the product, incorporating the beautiful retro design.

Glyphs
Designing the Top Ten Print manual, I've been experimenting with various glyphs in a few of my designs. I was intrigued as to find out what the technical names for the mass of glyphs are, and I came across this source from Adobe, the AGL (Adobe Glyph List).
I was slightly confused at first as it doesn't display the glyphs on the link, however the 4 digit code at the end of each name corresponds with the glyphs displayed in the software menu.

Mash ups
These logo mash-ups from Johnson Banks are the kind of brand combinations and hybrids I've been thinking about. although
